The Best of 2011: Fashionista Style

Plates #1

Yesterday during our CT 14 class, we were tasked to do our first legit plates. I was excited because we were gonna watercolor our drawings!!! Our first activity was to draw 3 mechanical figures (front view, side view, and the three-fourths view) using the 8 1/2 heads method. I was pretty happy with my drawings, even if the front view one had really big shoulders (so much for being proportional :( ).

After that activity, we were asked to go in front and explain why the outfit we were wearing was special for us (it was our assignment). I was originally wearing sandals, but I brought a long my rain boots (yes, they’re special for me HAHA). After the show and tell, we had to draw and watercolor the special outfits we were wearing on the mechanical drawing. (Dun dun dun dun!) I was really nervous about the whole thing. My hands were kinda shaky from all the nervousness. I COULDN’T OUTLINE PROPERLY. HUHUHU! But the drawings turned out well—I felt like a legit designer. ;)

My (acctidental) man-shouldered front view

Landi ba ng poses? HAHAHA

Can’t wait for next Saturday! We’re gonna be in our 70’s outfit and we’re gonna draw them. :D (And thank God I found a dress that looked 70’s enough! HAHA)

ACTS Freshmen Welcome and General Assembly

tiniglesias:

I’m so honored to be the VP for Externals of the UP ACTS (University of the Philippines Association of Clothing Technology Students) ExeComm this year. Yesterday marked our first activity/project wherein we had a welcome party of sorts for the CT freshmen students. :)

The activities and programs weren’t limited to freshies only, other batches were invited to participate as well.

ACTS booklet courtesy of the VP for Internals. Good job, Yana! Thanks also to our lovely blockmate Ja for printing. Mayaman sa ink! :)

I prepared these the previous day for our fashion-related activities. :)

We first had a styling challenge. We asked them to form groups of 7-8, and to create an outfit by using the clothes and accessories that we provided. They were allowed to get only one item per person. Paunahan at pagandahan ang drama! Haha.

They transformed my gray dress with lace panels into a shoulder bag with pearl straps. Very innovative!

Groups 1, 2 and 3

We also asked them to explain their looks/outfits

Round 2!

We declared the first group as the winners of the styling challenge because they were able to put the most stylish looks and were able to transform the mundane into something that looks visually exciting.

We had a basura challenge ala Project Runway thereafter.

We only allotted 15-20 minutes for the activity. In fair! Way to go, freshies and sophies!

Congratulations to the second group for winning The Best Frugal Fashion Designers!

We had merienda after the two activities!

ACTS pizza. Haha!

Thanks to Jamie for these cupcakes! BEST RED VELVET EVER.

After eating, we had a short quiz bee, which was our last activity. We inserted America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) quotes sporadically and ACTS President Rj was the one who imitated Tyra Banks. The photos of the designers served as the photos of the models in ANTM. HAHA.

First complete photo of the ACTS ‘11-‘12 ExeComm. :) I’m excited for our upcoming projects!

If you’re from UP Diliman and if you’d like to tie-up with our org, feel free to e-mail me your proposition at tin underscore iglesias at yahoo dot com, or any of the ACTS ExeComm members! :)

So glad to be part of this org ♥ Looking forward for more things to come :)

PS: SPOT ME HAHAHA

Turn your back against mine
I never thought you would

Hold my life against me
I didn’t know you could

Is that even possible?

Haven’t posted anything in a while. :|
